Global sensation Kaha:wi Dance Theatre returns with its brand-new production and world premiere tour of Medicine Bear. A multimedia theatrical dance and story experience, Medicine Bear weaves together two timeless stories about the gift and knowledge of traditional healing and the Iroquois people.

The concept of diversity must take root long before a person has the sophisticated vocabulary to explain what it is. Language, imagery, story, music, dance, and song are the portals introducing young people to cultural appreciation. For over two decades, the Children's Festival has been proud to shine a light on the beauty found in heritage arts from around the world and here at home.

  • On Monday, June 4, 2012, children have the chance to learn about what they will see and try out the movements themselves.
  • On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 5 and 6, 2012, students will see the performance, then participate in a guided talkback session with the artists.

This unique combined learning experience and performance opportunity is presented at no additional charge. Space is limited, so interested schools are asked to inquire early at 306-664-3378 or schoolschildfest@sasktel.net.
